Bio
Danielle Marie Ochoa is a Mexican-American fashion and textile designer based in Tempe, Arizona. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Art History at Arizona State University. Her research focuses on Mesoamerican material culture, the textile traditions of contemporary indigenous peoples in the Americas, and Modern and Contemporary Latin American Art.
She studied Fashion Design and Fibers at the Savannah College of Art and Design, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in 2019. After graduating, she worked in the fashion industry for a prominent brand where she designed embroidery and print artwork, developed dye standards and washes, and created novelty woven and knit fabrications for high-end dresses, jackets, and sweaters.
In 2024, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Arizona State University and began a year-long curatorial internship at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Recently, she was an Artist-in-Residence at GRACIA in Antigua, Guatemala studying back-strap weaving.
